As much as we want to always be on top and perform at our best, we have to realize that this will require recharging. We need to give ourselves time to regenerate, especially after periods of high energy, but I believe that in the long run, it is most rewarding to recharge regularly, not just consume our energy.
I have collected some hiking and excursion destinations that are very close to Budapest and easily accessible, where you can easily get away from your usual surroundings by organizing a half-day program. I mainly recommend them to those who prefer active relaxation.
1.Sorrento- cliffs
This 8-kilometer long hike is one of my favorites. The start of the route (Csillebérc KFKI) can be reached from Széll-Kálmán Square by bus number 21 in twenty minutes to half an hour. It is easy to walk all year round, can be completed in two and a half, maximum three hours, and the view speaks for itself.. need I list more? 😀
2.Fairy Rock
One of the most characteristic spots in the Buda hills. I think it is unmissable and quickly accessible.
While we are on János Hill, which is the highest point in Budapest, it is definitely worth going up to the Erzsébet Lookout Tower.
3. Danube Bend
The Danube Bend, located between the Visegrád Mountains and the Börzsöny Mountains, is one of the most beautiful hiking destinations in Hungary. There are many ways to explore the area: Visegrád, Esztergom, Rám Gorge, Prédikálószék, Hegyesteő - all within an hour's train ride from Budapest.
I have tested all the places mentioned above several times. Have fun!
